The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is the largest and fast growing global professional acountancy body with 404,000 trainees and 140,000 qualified members in 170 countries.

Is ACCA appropriate for me?

ACCA is appropriate for you if:

  • you want to gain a respected, all-round business qualification with equal focus on all major aspects of business and advanced options in Financial Management, Performance Management, Taxation and Audit and Assurance, or
  • you want to work in the accountancy profession, or
  • you aspire to a senior position in general management, or
  • you are a business lawyer, tax advisor, banker or consultant wanting to develop your career

ACCA members are internationally recognised and work in a variety of sectors including public practice, industry, not-for-profit, commerce and government. Studying can be fitted around a full time job.

The ACCA syllabus

The ACCA syllabus combines the benefits of traditional accounting skills (financial accounting, management accounting and taxation) with finance, law, systems design, audit, communication skills, ethics and business conduct, management and strategic thinking. Find out more about ACCA Examinations.

ACCA Membership

In order to become a member of the ACCA, you will need to have:

  • passed the ACCA examinations. Most people study whilst working full time and the exams are usually completed over a 3 year period
  • gained 3 years of relevant practical experience
  • achieved 13 performance objectives to the satisfaction of a workplace mentor
  • completed the ACCA on-line professional Ethics module
