How many exams do I have to take?
Unless you are awarded exemptions you will be required to pass 13 exams:
- All of the Fundamental Level Knowledge Module papers,
- All of the Fundamental Level Skills Module papers,
- All of the Professional Level Essential Module papers, and two out of the four available Professional Level Options Module papers
Will I get exemptions?
Your previous qualifications may entitle you to exemptions from certain ACCA examinations. To find out if you are eligible for exemptions go to the exemption support page of the ACCA website.
Sometimes it may not be in your best interest to apply for, or to accept, exemptions. It will depend on how you feel about studying, how long it is since you last studied, and how confident you are with the subject material. You should bear in mind that the higher level papers will rely on information from the lower stages of the qualification.

When are the exams?
The ACCA gives accreditation to certain training providers to run Computer Based Examinations (CBE) for papers AB, MA, FA and LW. BPP Romania is an accredited CBE Centre and therefore you can take exams for papers AB, MA, FA and LW with us at any time by prior arrangement. Exams for all other subjects (and for AB, MA, FA and LW paper-based exams) are taken in March, June, September and December each year. They take place in the first half of the month.
Where are the exams?
Computer Based Exams (CBE) for papers AB, MA, FA and LW will be held at BPP premises.
Paper based exam sittings are arranged directly by the ACCA. The final location will be confirmed by the ACCA when you receive your Examination Attendance Docket (3 weeks before the beginning of the exam).
How many exams can I take at the same time?
The ACCA permit you to take a maximum of 4 exams at each sitting.
Do I have to take the exams in order?
The modules must be taken in the order shown above but within a module you can choose which exams you take at each session.
How long are the exams and what is the pass mark?
- Papers AB, MA, FA and FW are 2 hour exams whether they are taken as computer-based or paper-based exams.
- All other papers have 3 hours on paper-based exams
- To achieve a pass in an exam you must score 50%
